Burlington police make arrest in shooting

Burlington, IA-  Authorities have made an arrest in connection to a shooting investigation.

According to a news release, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at approximately 6:08 a.m. the Burlington Police Department responded to the 500-block of S. Central Avenue regarding a shooting that had just taken place.

Upon arrival, officers located a 64-year old male who had sustained a gunshot wound to his lower extremities. He was transported to Southeast Iowa regional Medical Center for treatment.

The Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division began investigating the shooting incident. During the investigation, multiple interviews were conducted, search warrants executed, and a firearm related to the shooting incident was recovered.

30-year-old Joshua Tracey Manfredi of Burlington was arrested and charged with Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, Going Armed with Intent, and Aggravated Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

Manfredi was transported to the Des Moines County Correctional Center and is being held without bond.
