Australia- Five people have been charged in the stabbing death of a former SCC basketball player.
The Hawk Eye reports that former SCC basketball player Alier Riak had been out celebrating his 23rd birthday with his brother in Victoria, Australia, when the two men were ambushed and stabbed by a group of men. Riak later died at a hospital, while his brother survived.
On Friday, authorities arrested 21-year-old Aron Gebregorgis and 19-year-old Teamrat Kassa, both of Melbourne, and charged them with the murder of Riak.
Three other men were arrested on charges of violent disorder and affray in connection with the attack.
