Middletown, IA- The Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and American Ordinance celebrated the completion of the new $7.2 million recycling center at the Middletown campus on Thursday, April 21st.
The Hawk Eye reports that the new facility is expected to be operational within the next 30 days, and will replace the IAAAP’s outdated recycling facility.
Along with the ability to recycle paper, plastics, and other recyclable waste, the new facility will also have the ability to recycle Styrofoam.
IAAAP Environmental Coordinator Randy Doyle said that the facility intends to work with local businesses and others in the community to take in off-site recyclables.
