Gerald Ernest Levandoske, 77, passed away in his home on June 15, 2022. He was born September 26, 1944 in Hamilton, Montana. He was the son of Ernest and Margaret Levandoske. Gerald married Connie Baker on May 9, 1969 and they had two children Brent Levandoske of Burlington and Kelly Levandoske of Burlington.

He is survived by his wife Connie, son Brent and daughter Kelly; five grandkids, Sayde Levandoske, Morgan Levandoske, Brock Jones, Lilly Levandoske and Jared Levandoske; one great-granddaughter, Starra Levandoske.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, two brothers Gordon and Glenn, one sister Alice and one grandchild.

He was employed at JI Case company for 30 years as well as Delta Auto Service and Daco Auto Service. His hobbies were working on cars, racing, woodworking, fishing and camping.

The family would like to thank Southeast Iowa Regional Home Health and Hospice for the wonderful care they gave and his many doctors. Special thanks to all family and friends for their unending support and prayers.

Per his request, Gerald was cremated. There will be a future graveside service at the time of passage of his loving wife.

William Joseph Harrington, 86, of Naples, FL, formerly of Burlington, IA, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL.

William (Bill) was born in Waverly, Iowa on December 11, 1935. He was the first child of Joseph and Agnes (Hagarty) Harrington.

He grew up on a farm near Plainfield, IA. Bill graduated from Waverly High School in 1954. After high school, he went on to study at Iowa State University before serving in Korea for the U.S. Army.

Bill was a dynamic, enterprising hard worker with a vibrant personality. He was involved in sales and management most of his life. Some of his pursuits included owning a supper club and getting his pilot’s license. He retired in 1998 as Vice President of King’s Material, Quad Cities.

Bill enjoyed motorhoming and boating and was an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He received a National Award of Merit for saving 4 lives.

Bill married LouAnn Larsen in Cedar Falls, Iowa and they had four children. They later divorced. In 1988, he married Carol Laue Roberts.

Bill was an active, faith-filled member of St. Finbarr Catholic Church in Naples, FL; the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree; and the VFW. He also served as a volunteer for Catholic Charities.

Bill is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Karlyn Harrington (Mark) of Naples, FL, Paul Harrington, Port Byron, IL and Susan Soupiset (Shannon) of Iowa City, IA. Carol’s children: Susan Sovers (John) of Iowa City, IA; Sarah Loots (Mark) of Burlington, IA; David (Bill) Roberts (Brooke) of Burlington, IA; and Edward Roberts (Cathy) of Burlington, IA; Brothers: Leonard (Janet) of Atkinson, IL; Terrance (Cindy) of Adel, IA; Edward (Kay) of Adel, IA; Phillip (Janice) of Adel, IA; sisters: JoAnn Carey (Dick) of Shellrock, IA; and Sharon Puls-Curttright of Menasha, WI; sister-in-law, Beverley Harrington of Haywood, MN; brother-in-law, Ronald Laue (Jan) of Burlington, IA;16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Joseph; his son, Craig; his brothers, Stanley and Wayne; his brother-in-law, Budd Curttright; and his sister-in-law, Jean Laue Stewart.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks for memorial donations to the family or St. Mary’s Catholic Church, West Burlington, IA.

Visitation for Mr. Harrington will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Divine Mercy Parish-SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington.

The Memorial Mass will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 27, 2022 at Divine Mercy Parish-SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington. A luncheon will be held in the Saint Mary’s cafeteria immediately following the service. Inurnment will take place at North Walker Cemetery following the luncheon.

Eupha M. Schmidt, 90, of Burlington, died Monday, June 20, 2022 in Burlington.
Born October 13, 1931, in Bloomington, Indiana, she was raised by her mother Ola Marie Stephens and step-father Charlie Harned. She married Eugene Schmidt on January 1, 1949 in Morning Sun, Iowa. He died March 30, 2008.
Eupha was a 1948 graduate of Morning Sun High School.
Eupha and her husband began their married life as farmers in Yarmouth, moving to Wapello in 1951. They also farmed in Winfield and Crawfordsville before her husband went into the ministry.
Their first church was in Otranto, then in Douds and then Walker, all in Iowa. As a minister’s wife she taught Sunday School and worked with Awana.
After moving to Burlington, Eupha worked at the Burlington Care Center and then got much satisfaction from volunteering near 3000 hours at the Klein Center when it was on Madison Avenue.
She always worked hard and made a great life with very little.
Eupha played an important part in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, that came to visit her, teaching them to ride bikes, taking them to swimming lessons and playing games with them.
Survivors include her three children; Laverne (Betsy) Schmidt of Waxahachie, Texas, Dale (Nancy) Schmidt of Burlington, Iowa and Naomi (Lance) Landes of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Amber (Heath) Waldeier, Ashley (David) Flach, Troy Schmidt, Stephanie (Trent) Smith, Krista (Luke) Mielke and Starla Landis; 13 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her mother, step father, a daughter, a grandson and a brother.
The funeral service for Mrs. Schmidt will be Thursday, June 23rd at 10:00 am at the Morning Sun Community Center with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Joann E. Marshall, 86, of West Burlington, died Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Danville Care Center.
Born June 10, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Lewis and Mary Ethel (Baggs) Schlag.
She was a 1955 graduate of Burlington High School and attended the Cook County, Illinois Nursing School from 1956-1959.
She married Marvin Leroy Marshall on November 27, 1964 in Burlington. He died August 12, 2017.
Joann worked as a Registered Nurse for Burlington Medical Center for over 35 years until her retirement in 1997. She continued with her nursing career from 1997-2012 helping out at various facilities.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Joann was an avid quilter and loved to sew. She made several bridal dresses and redid upholstery. She was a self-taught “handy-woman” and was never afraid to tackle any challenge. She started and completed many building projects on her own. Joann was a selfless person, very caring and giving and would not think twice about going without something to make sure someone else had what they needed. She loved reading a good romance novel and in her later years, came to appreciate researching the internet.
Survivors include her four children; Tim (Carol) Marshall of West Burlington, Eric Marshall and Brenda Dickey both of Burlington and Steve (Rockzann) Marshall of Danville; two step-sons Mark (Sandy) Marshall of Des Moines and Mike (Debbie) Marshall of Stockton, Missouri; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robert Marshall, daughter Jennifer Diewold and brother Fred Schlag.
The graveside funeral service and interment for Joann will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23rd at Greenwood Cemetery, West Burlington. Pastor Dean Graber will officiate. A celebration of life will follow at the Burlington Gym.
A memorial has been established for St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.

Walter E. Judd, 73, of Burlington, died Saturday, June 18, 2022, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Born March 6, 1949, in Iowa, he was the son of Earnest and Virginia (Hester) Judd.
He previously worked for the Iowa Ammunition Plant and Yellow Cab.
Walter loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family. He also liked going to the casino with his son Dusty and listening to his records and CD’s going on road trips with his family.
He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, loved fishing, and sitting outside with family and friends. He would help anyone that needed help.
Walter is survived by his two sons; Dusty (Anne) Judd and Andy (Becky) Judd; grandchildren Brianna (Lucky), Jesse, Austin, Jakob, Abbie, Carissa, Cody (Valerie), Tony, Jaime, David, Zach, Malibu and Josh; great grandchildren; Alli, Addi, Haley, Cathy, Izzy, Jayce, Jaichen, Ziva, Lucas, Christian, Brave, Josh, Miguel, Karter, Delanee, Alexis, Aryia and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Vickie, daughter Sammi and his siblings.
A celebration of life will be held on June 25th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Walter’s residence in Burlington. The family asks that you bring a covered dish and any memories you have.

Larry Dwayne Talbott, 70, of Burlington, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, after suffering many years from chronic medical conditions.

Born July 18, 1951, in Burlington, IA, he was the son of Lawrence Earl and Shirley Ann Westgate Talbott.

He graduated from Burlington Community High School. He obtained training in auto body painting and repair and this became his hobby for a number of years.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include two daughters: Ashley Talbott of Burlington, IA, and Addison (Ethan) Neathery of Orlando, FL; his mother, Shirley Talbott of Burlington, IA; two brothers, Steve Talbott Burlington and Gary Talbott of Oquawka, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be services.

James Bradley Patty, 44, of Burlington died Saturday, June 18, 2022 at University of Iowa Hospital.
Born March 3, 1978 in Santa Clara, CA he was the son of Sally Jean Bradley.
James was of the Baptist faith. He attended school through 11th grade and then earned his GED before joining Job Corp.
On November 5, 2011 he married Jamie Brown in Burlington Iowa.
James was a handyman. He loved scrapping, fishing, the color “camo” and he worked on computers.
Survivors include his wife Jamie, his two children with other family, step-father Ray Ostermeyer Sr of Oskaloosa, IA and step-brother Ray Ostermeyer Jr of Ottumwa, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
There will be no service at this time. Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel.

Glenna Mehaffy, 91, of Burlington, died Friday, June 17, 2022, at her daughters’ home.
Born June 10, 1931, in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Fred E. and Nellie F. (Purcell) Rowe. She married Lewis Mehaffy on June 24, 1950, in Burlington. He died May 14, 2008.
Glenna was an inspector for Champion Spark Plug for over 15 years. She was a member of the UAW Retirees and served as secretary for 13 years. She was an active Democrat and worked for the Gephardt the Democratic nomination for President in 1988 and 2004.
Glenna was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved drawing, painting, making cards, writing letters, bird watching and feeding birds, music, gardening, canning, reading books. She loved tending to her flower garden, kayaking, traveling, history, cooking, baking and her dog’s LaKoda and Pepper.
She was known for her hospitality, HUGS, and her famous apple pies, among other desserts. She loved all holidays and decorations. To the fullest.
Glenna was a friend to ALL she met and was remembered saying “PEACE”, while holding up “peace” signs. Most recently she would say in a loud voice I AM WOMAN! HEAR ME ROAR! with her fist in the air.
Survivors include her four children; Debbie (Ben) Buechel of New London, Dennis (Paula) Mehaffy of Burlington, Diane (Dan) Buechel of Danville and Kathleen (Duane) Smith of Sperry; nine grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; two sisters Rosemary (Henry) Luchner of Enterprise, Alabama and Sharon Green of Sandy, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son Garry Mehaffy.
There will be no formal funeral service for Mrs. Mehaffy. According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Long Creek Cemetery, rural Danville.

Ruth Ann Myers, 73, of Stronghurst, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at St. Francis O.S.F. Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.
Born September 14, 1948, in West Point, Iowa, she was the daughter of Anthony Frank and Clara (Hawkins) Fraise. She married Paul Myers on March 24, 1989. He died May 15, 2003.
Ruth served in home health care and cared for hospice patients for many years until her own health began declining. She was very passionate about taking care of the elderly, she was an avid gardener and loved her time spent with her grandkids and her dog Chloe.
She is survived by her two children; Kantina (Sean) Schmiers of Danville, Iowa and Robert (Lisa) Carroll of Biggsville, Illinois; five grandchildren; four siblings, Annette Jones of Ottumwa, Alfred Fraise of Farmington, Ralph (Linda) Fraise of Fort Madison and Glenn Fraise of Argyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ronnie, Raymond and Melvin and two sisters, Esther and Josephine.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Ruth’s home. According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
