Burlington, IA-  Viking Cruise lines says that the maiden voyage of a new Mississippi River cruise liner, which would be stopping in Burlington, has been delayed because of supply chain issues.

The Hawk Eye reports that the ship had been scheduled to dock in Burlington twice in July, but now the first ship won’t dock in the city until August 15th.

Chris Gram, program director of the Greater Burlington Convention and Visitors Bureau said that the delays mostly surround amenities on the ship and that construction of the ship itself is mostly finished.

Viking had scheduled 10 stops in Burlington this year, but due to these delays, that number has been reduced to 8.
