Burlington, IA- The Burlington Fire Department has released details of a fire at Case New Holland.

According to a news release, at 10:05 PM Tuesday the Burlington Fire Department responded to CNH for a fire sprinkler activation. Firefighters arrived within 5 minutes to find water flowing from under an overhead door in the southeast corner of the plant.

Upon investigation, firefighters discovered there had been a fire in a second floor storage room and it had been extinguished by the building’s fire sprinkler system. Firefighters were able to assist in shutting down and draining the sprinkler system.

The cause of the fire is considered accidental due to ordinary combustibles stored too close to a water heater. Damage estimates are still being assessed and CNH is working with their sprinkler contractor to restore the building’s sprinkler system.
