Four people charged for Mediapolis pool burglary

Burlington, IA-  The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrests of four individuals for burglarizing the Mediapolis Community Pool.

According to a news release, on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at about 8:30 AM, deputies responded to the Mediapolis Community Pool in reference to a burglary. Deputies found that the suspects had scaled the fence and entered the building from the poolside.

Once inside, it was determined that the burglars had taken several food items at which time they did cause some minor damage. The burglars then stole the money that was left for the next day’s opening.

Deputies identified several individuals through surveillance footage who were possibly involved.  Deputies were then able to conduct 3 separate search warrants on residences in Mediapolis.

Through the investigation, deputies were able to charge four individuals with 3rd Degree Burglary and Theft 4th Degree. Three of the charged suspects were juveniles. One has been waived to adult court and was transported to the Lee County Juvenile Detention Center.

The fourth, 18-year-old Jaden Anliker of Mediapolis was arrested and taken to the Des Moines County Jail.
