Fairfield teen granted continuance in murder case

Fairfield, IA-  A judge has granted a continuance in the case against a Fairfield teen accused of murdering a High School Spanish Teacher.

TV Station KTVO reports that Attorneys for 17-year-old Jeremy Goodale filed a motion asking for a continuance last week, which was granted by a judge on Friday.  Goodale was originally scheduled to face a jury on December 5th in Scott County.

The deadline to set a new trial date for Goodale is November 21st.

Goodale’s co-defendant, 17-year-old Willard Miller is set to go to trial in March 2023.
