Burlington, IA-  The Burlington Police Department says a Mt. Pleasant woman and a Burlington man are in jail following a robbery that occurred Tuesday, January 31st.

According to a news release, at about 11 PM Tuesday, DESCOM received a call that a man had been assaulted at Gasland, 1003 Summer Street, and he was bleeding from the face.  When officers arrived, they located a male with a laceration under his right eyelid.

The victim said he was contacted by 25-year-old Corsha Williams who requested a ride to the Gasland.  The victim said he drove to South 5th and Division where he picked up Williams and Kermontae Heard.

The victim said while he was driving to the Gasland, he and Williams began arguing.  The victim told officers when they arrived at Gasland, Williams began to punch him repeatedly on the side of his face while still inside the vehicle.  The victim told officers his wallet was missing following the attack.

Officers watched video surveillance from Gasland and saw the victim and Williams exit the vehicle and Williams began chasing the victim.  The video also showed Williams fall onto the victim and continuing to hold onto him for the duration of the interaction.

Officers located Williams and Heard near the intersection of Cedar Street and Central Avenue.  Williams and Heard were both arrested on outstanding arrest warrants unrelated to the incident.  Officers found Williams in possession of the victim’s keys, wallet, and cell phone.
