Burlington, IA- A Des Moines County Jury has found a Burlington man guilty of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree.
According to the Des Moines County Attorney’s Office, 50-year-old Raymond Leo Showers of Burlington was found guilty of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree Thursday, February 2nd, 2023, following a two-day trial.
The charge stemmed from a report of an incident that occurred in December of 2021. Following an investigation by detectives with the Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations division. Showers was arrested in November of 2022.
Sentencing for Showers is scheduled for March 6th, 2023 at the Des Moines County Courthouse. Showers faces a maximum sentence of 10 years.
