Knoxville, Illinois man arrested on multiple charges

Galesburg, Ill.-  The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Knoxville, Illinois man on multiple charges.

According to a news release, on Thursday, March 2nd, deputies with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 871 Mine Road in Knoxville, Illinois to locate a wanted subject.

Deputies arrived and found a male on the property.  Deputies attempted to make contact, and the male pushed a chain link fence gate and a metal roll bar toward one deputy and attempted to get away.

The man continued to resist and caused injuries to the deputies, who were eventually able to get him into custody.

Once in custody, the man gave deputies a false name and was found to be in possession of 1.5 grams of methamphetamine.

The man, later identified as 34-year-old Bradley Canier of Knoxville was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Obstructing Justice.

Canier was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.
