Burlington woman arrested for Methamphetamine possession

Burlington, IA-  The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Burlington woman on multiple drug-related charges.

According to a news release, on Sunday, March 12th, at about 10:03 PM, a Des Moines County Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at Roosevelt and Agency Street in Burlington.

During the traffic stop a consent search of the vehicle was conducted and drug packaging materials and drug paraphernalia were located on the driver’s floorboard.

The driver, 41-year-old Misty Marie Brown of Burlington was detained.  While detaining brown, deputies observed she was concealing something in her hand.  Deputies removed the item, a Ziplock bag, and found it had four individually packaged bags of methamphetamine inside of it.

Brown was arrested for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving under suspension.
