Burlington, IA- Authorities recovered the deceased body of a man from the Mississippi River on Friday, March 17th, after the discovery of an abandoned truck and boat.
According to a news release, at about 2:11 PM Friday, Burlington Police Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at the north boat ramps.
Upon arrival, officers located an unattended truck and boat trailer. A search of the area revealed an unoccupied boat north of the BNSF Bridge on the Illinois side.
Authorities began searching the area between the north boat ramp and the BNSF bridge, and a deceased male was recovered from the river at about 2:30 PM.
The incident remains under investigation, and the name of the deceased has yet to be released.
