
Burlington, IA- Three people are facing felony drug charges following a Burlington traffic stop.
37 year old Trevor Harmon of Lomax, Illinois, 25 year old Brooke Zwicky of Burlington, and 23 year old Makenzy Gilpin of Fort Madison are all facing felony charges following a traffic stop.
The Hawk Eye reports that, at about 3 PM Monday, detectives with the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force were conducting surveillance on Harmon as part of an investigation into methamphetamine distribution, and observed a vehicle containing Harmon and Zwicky, driven by Gilpin from Burlington to a known drug house in Galesburg, Illinois.
The three then drove back to Burlington, and were stopped by Burlington Police near Highway 61 and Mount Pleasant Street.
Police conducted a search of the vehicle police located a purse containing over seven grams of methamphetamine. Police also found a digital scale and packaging materials in a backpack, which belonged to Harmon, and a syringe containing methamphetamine in a purse belonging to Gilpin.
Harmon was charged with a controlled substance violation, gathering where controlled substances are used, and failure to affix drug stamp.
Zwicky has been charged with controlled substance violation, failure to affix drug stamp, and gathering where controlled substances are used.
Gilpin has been charged with gathering where controlled substances are used.
