Burlington man facing domestic abuse, false imprisonment charges

Burlington, IA-  The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Burlington man on multiple charges.

According to a news release, on Tuesday, April 11th, at about 12:38 PM, deputies were dispatched to 400 South 3rd Avenue #8 in Danville for a report of a burglary of a residence.

Deputies were advised that 33-year-old Matthew Allen Reynolds of Burlington had entered the victim’s home through a window and assaulted her.  The victim said that Reynolds held her down against her will.

When Reynolds left the residence, the victim called law enforcement and gave a description of what he was driving. Reynolds’s vehicle was located and stopped by the West Burlington Police Department near Washington Rd. and Beaverdale Rd. Deputies responded and spoke with Reynolds.

Deputies found that Reynolds was barred from driving and is also the defendant on a protection order with the victim.

Reynolds was arrested for driving while barred, violation of a no-contact order, domestic abuse assault 3rd offense, 2nd-degree burglary, and false imprisonment.

He was transported to the Des Moines County Jail and held without bond.
