
Henry County, IA- The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has announced that multiple individuals have been charged as a result of an investigation into methamphetamine trafficking.
According to a news release, in early 2023 the Henry County Sheriff’s Office conducted a methamphetamine trafficking investigation in the Henry County and Southeast Iowa area.
Upon investigation, 5 people have been charged and/or arrested on multiple charges.
31-year-old Michael Carpenter of St. Paul, Iowa was charged with Conspiracy to Deliver over 5 grams of methamphetamine, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, and gathering/meeting where controlled substances were distributed.
36-year-old Crystal Ecker of St. Paul, Iowa was charged with 2 counts of Conspiracy to deliver over 5 grams of methamphetamine.
37-year-old Trevor Harman of Lomax, Illinois was charged with Conspiracy to deliver over 5 grams of methamphetamine.
36-year-old Bryan Stewart of new London, Iowa was charged with Sex Offender Registry Violation and Gathering/meeting where controlled substances were distributed.
41-year-old Joshua Helmick of Norwalk, Iowa was charged with Possession with intent to deliver over 5 grams, Failure to affix a drug tax stamp, and eluding.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force, Burlington Police Department, Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, West Burlington Police Department, Ottumwa Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, New London Police Department, and the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
