
Carthage, Ill.- The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Hamilton, Illinois man following a traffic stop.
According to a news release, at about 11 PM Thursday, May 11th, a Hancock County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on the Hamilton/Keokuk Bridge for a traffic violation.
The driver was identified as 56-year-old Troy F. Markham of Hamilton.
A Sheriff’s Office K9 conducted a free air sniff and positively alerted to the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located 6.3 grams of a crystal substance which tested positive for methamphetamine.
Markham was arrested and taken to the Hancock County Jail.
