Bushnell Illinois teens arrested for murder

Macomb, Ill.- The Illinois State Police have announced the arrests of two Bushnell, Illinois teens for first-degree murder.

According to a news release, on Friday, June 2nd, ISP Division of Criminal Investigations agents were requested to conduct a death investigation in the 600 block of Osbourne Street in Bushnell.

During the investigation, 43-year-old Travis Purden was discovered deceased in his residence with multiple gunshot wounds. Following an investigation, including reviewing surveillance camera footage and conducting interviews, 18-year-old Davin M. Purden and 17-year-old Nicholas C. Lafary were identified as suspects.

Arrest warrants for Purden and Lafary were issued on Sunday, June 4th, and both were arrested Monday, June 5th.

The ISP also took 37-year-old Patricia J. Purden of Bushnell, IL, and a 17-year-old juvenile female into custody for Obstructing Justice.
