Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office conducts Sex Offender Registry compliance checks

Burlington, IA-  The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has announced the results of recent sex offender registry compliance checks.

According to a news release, on Sunday, June 4th, the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office conducted sex offender registry compliance checks on area sex offenders.  The compliance checks continued through Tuesday, June 6th.

The compliance checks resulted in 149 total registered sex offenders, 10 non-compliant, 7 incarcerated, and 15 arrests/warrants.

All new charges were a result of registered offenders failing to comply with the rules of the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.

The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations, Burlington Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service.
