Burlington man arrested for possession of methamphetamine

Oquawka, Ill.-  The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Burlington man on drug charges.

According to a news release, at about 11:11 AM Tuesday, June 13th, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a possible domestic dispute on US 34 traveling west in rural Gladstone.  While en route to the scene, dispatch advised that a female had begun walking down the highway.

Deputies arrived and located a male walking from the suspect vehicle.  During their investigation, deputies learned the female had been picked up by another motorist.

While speaking with the male he was patted down for officer safety. During the pat down, Deputies located a baggie containing drugs. Evidence of a domestic battery was not discovered.

37-year-old Miguel Angel Diaz was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.
