Fairfield, IA-  A Fairfield teen who pleaded guilty to killing a high school Spanish teacher is seeking to have his sentencing delayed.

TV Station KCCI reports that Jeremy Goodale pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of Nohema Graber in April.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in August, but Goodale’s lawyers are seeking to have that date pushed back to October.  They are seeking this because a psychiatrist who was scheduled to testify at the hearing won’t be available until then.

Prosecutors say Graber’s ex-husband Paul Graber, wants to make a victim impact statement and is facing a terminal illness.  Prosecutors say it’s not clear if he will survive until October.

A July hearing on the subject has been set.
