Henderson County Sheriff’s Office: Independence Day enforcement numbers

Oquawka, Ill.- The Henderson County Sheriff’s office has announced the results of their Independence Day enforcement effort.

According to a news release, the Henderson County Sheriff’s office made 0 impaired driving arrests and issued 5 seatbelt citations during the recent Independence Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High Get a DUI” and “Click It or Ticket” safety campaigns.

Henderson County Deputies issued 5 Speeding tickets, and 2 No Insurance tickets, and made 1 arrest for Possession of Methamphetamine.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies to get drunk and drugged drivers off our roads, encourage seat belt use, and enforce speeding and other traffic laws.

The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
