Muscatine, IA- The Muscatine Police Department says that one person has been arrested following a shooting that left one person dead.
Muscatine Police Chief Anthony Kies told TV Station KWQC that 20-year-old Andre Jones was arrested for the shooting death of 41-year-old Jeremy Smith.
The shooting occurred at about 12:45 PM Wednesday, July 19th, at the Harrison Lofts, 1716 Bandag Drive apartment 305, in Muscatine. Officers arrived on the scene and found Smith dead from a gunshot wound.
Witnesses helped officers identify Jones as a suspect and authorities began searching for him. Jones was later located at 1414 first avenue, where he surrendered himself.
Authorities say that Jones and Smith knew each other, and the shooting is being investigated as a homicide.
