Burlington, IA- A Burlington man has been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a family member.
52-year-old Robert Hicke was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to third-degree sexual abuse.
The Hawk Eye reports that Hicke was arrested on April 5th, and charged with third-degree sexual abuse and incest, after he admitted to abusing a family member.
Hicke initially plead not guilty to the charges, and a trial date was scheduled for May. But, Hicke later pleaded guilty to the sexual abuse charge as part of a plea deal.
In addition to his prison sentence, Hicke will also be required to register as a sex offender and pay restitution for court costs.
