Macomb, Ill.- The McDonough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an altercation that resulted in one person being shot.
According to a news release, on Saturday, August 26th, McDonough County Deputies responded to 3715 North 350th Road in rural Plymouth, Illinois for two males who were in a physical altercation. One of the males had shot the other.
Colchester Fire and Lifeguard Ambulance responded to the scene to give aid to a 41-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The patient was transported to Carthage Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The McDonough County Sheriff’s Office along with the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit processed the scene for evidence.
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and says there is no danger to the community at this time.
