Macomb man arrested for deflating police car tires

Macomb, Ill.-  The Macomb Police Department has announced the arrest of a man for deflating the tires on police cars.

According to a news release, at about 7 AM Wednesday, August 30th, Macomb Police Officers found two city police squad cars with flat tires while parked in the police department’s parking lot.

Upon inspection, officers found the tire’s valve stem caps and valve stem cores.  The suspect had removed the valve stem cores and flattened the tires.

Officers reviewed security camera footage and were able to observe the suspect walk up to both squad cars and flatten their tires.

Officers tracked the suspect southbound on South Johnson Street, and later into an apartment building on West Piper Street.

The Suspect, Mark A. Wiltermood of Macomb was arrested and charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle.
