
Mount Pleasant, IA- The Mount Pleasant Police Department on Wednesday, September 6th, announced that two suspects in an armed robbery at a local motel had been arrested.
According to a news release, at about 11:21 PM Tuesday, September 5th, the Mt. Pleasant Police Department was notified of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Best Western Motel, 810 North Grand Avenue in Mount Pleasant.
An investigation revealed that a male wearing a mask and displaying a handgun entered the motel, demanded money from the staff, and fled northbound in a vehicle with another suspect.
Information from witnesses helped identify the suspects and their vehicle.
The suspects were later located in Columbus Junction and fled the scene. One of the suspects, 28-year-old Marquise Rushin of Chicago was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Robbery.
The second suspect, 34-year-old Calvin Williams of Chicago, was arrested Wednesday in Columbus Junction.
