Burlington, IA- The Burlington Police Department says that a sting operation at a local massage parlor led to the arrests of two Burlington residents on pandering and prostitution charges.
According to a news release, on June 30th Burlington Police Detectives began an investigation into the business of “J Massage” located at 3220 Division Street in Burlington, after receiving multiple complaints about the establishment in reference to sexual acts happening and being offered after a massage for an extra tip.
On July 17th, detectives pulled trash out of the trash can belonging to J Massage after conducting visual surveillance on the business. Within the trash, detectives found a small sack containing numerous paper towels and tissues, which were examined and tested positive for seminal fluid.
During the investigation, detectives learned the owner of J Massage was 71-year-old James Dixon.
On Thursday, September 20th, detectives sent an undercover police officer into the business for a massage. During said massage, the officer was offered manual copulation from the female, later identified as 68-year-old Yuna Song, in the form of a hand gesture. The officer clarified with Song if she was offering manual copulation, and she said she was for $60. The officer declined the sex act.
At about 2 PM Thursday, Detectives executed a search warrant at J Massage, and both Dixon and Song were brought to the Burlington Police Department for an interview.
During the interview, Dixon admitted he was aware that Asian massage parlors are known for giving sexual favors and has been to them in the past. Dixon also admitted to receiving massages from Song.
Detectives asked Dixon about the profits at the massage parlor and he told detectives that he receives half of the money for each massage so he can pay the bills, allowing Song to keep the tips and half of the massage money.
Dixon was charged with Pandering, while Song was charged with Prostitution.
