Man accused of killing Algona police officer held on $2 million bond

Algona, IA-  A man accused of shooting and killing an Iowa police officer is being held in Kossuth County on a $2 million bond.

Kyle Ricke is facing first-degree murder charges in the death of Algona police officer Kevin Cram.  TV station KCCI reports that Ricke fled the scene of the shooting and was later arrested in Brown County, Minnesota.

Ricke appeared remotely for a court hearing on Thursday, September 21st, where a judge increased his bond from $1 million to $2 million.

Ricke’s next hearing is scheduled for Friday, September 29th.
