Burlington, IA- The Burlington Public Works Directors Office has released an update on the 2023 Sealcoat Street Resurfacing Project.
According to a news release, starting on Friday, September 29th, the City’s Contractor will begin adjusting manholes and cleaning the gutter lines on the streets receiving seal coat. The streets will be accessible to traffic, but it is possible that the street will be single-lane traffic and/or a temporary closure at the manhole.
Monday, October 2nd, and Tuesday, October 3rd, the prime/tack coat will be applied. At this time the streets will be closed for 12 to 24 hours to all traffic. The chip seal will be done early the following day.
Once the rock chips are applied, the street will be opened and the no parking signs removed. Work on certain streets will be phased for the most convenient available access to homes. Door hangers will be put out on these phased streets giving more detail in the scheduling.
Timing will be dependent on the weather conditions.
