
Burlington, IA- The Burlington Police Department has announced the arrests of two people on multiple drug-related charges.
According to a news release, for the past several months the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force has been investigating a drug trafficking organization distributing crack cocaine and heroin in and around the Burlington area.
On Tuesday, October 3rd, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle driven by Laquese Murphy. Detectives searched the vehicle and located a significant amount of crack cocaine and heroin.
Murphy was arrested for Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Deliver, and two counts of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp.
A passenger in the vehicle, Corsha Williams, was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana.
This investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are anticipated.
