Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office is advising residents of fraudulent activity in the area.
According to a news release, on Wednesday, October 25th, the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office received information that local businesses were being contacted with a request for a paid advertisement on behalf of the “Des Moines County Sheriff’s Department.”
The Sheriff’s Office advises that any calls received referencing a community guide advertisement representing the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office are fraudulent.
The Sheriff’s Office says the matter is under investigation.
