
West Point, IA- A West Point man was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospital after being struck by a teenage driver.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, at about 7:52 AM Thursday, November 9th, a 2017 GMC Sierra, driven by 15-year-old James Denning of Houghton was going eastbound on County Road 103 from West Point, approaching a residence at 2431 County Road 103.
At the same time, 65-year-old Jayme Boeding of West Point was crossing the roadway to get to his mailbox on the south side of the road when he was struck by the vehicle in the eastbound lane.
The ISP says that Boeding failed to see the vehicle approaching.
Boeding was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment of his injuries.
No further information was released.
