
Burlington, IA- The Burlington Fire Department says that a family dog was rescued from a house fire on Sunday, November 26th.
According to a news release, at 12:43 PM Sunday, the Burlington and West Burlington Fire Departments responded to a reported house fire at 325 Concord Drive in Burlington.
Firefighters arrived four minutes later to find heavy smoke coming from a single-story home.
The fire was found by a Burlington Police Officer on routine patrol. The homeowners were not there at the time of the fire, and the family dog was safely rescued from the home.
The Fire Department says the home did have working smoke detectors.
Damages are still being assessed, but the structure is considered a total loss.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
