
Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a New London man on drug-related charges following a traffic stop.
According to a news release, on Saturday, January 6th, a Des Moines County Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at US Highway 34 and Roosevelt Avenue.
During the stop, a Burlington Police Department K9 officer responded to the scene. The k9 conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and several hypodermic needles containing methamphetamine were located.
The driver, 49-year-old Clarence Junior Kilbride of New London was arrested for possession of a controlled substance 3rd or subsequent offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
