
Burlington, IA- The Burlington Police Department has announced the arrests of multiple individuals in separate incidents.
On Thursday, Burlington Police Detectives learned that Tyreon Woodard was in the Burlington area and had an active federal warrant for probation violation.
With the assistance of the US Marshals, the West Burlington Police Department, and the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, Woodard was located in the 200 block of South Starr Avenue, and taken into custody without incident.
At about 3:09 PM Thursday, January 11th, Burlington Police Officers were dispatched to the 1100 Block of Valley Street for a report of shots fired.
While in the area, officers located evidence of shots fired in front of 1122 Valley Street. Officers located Jordan Simon, who had Iowa state warrants for Escape and Involuntary Absence from Custody in 1122 Valley Street.
Simon was taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was conducted and further evidence was gathered. The investigation into the shots fired incident is ongoing and additional arrests are anticipated.
At about 11:07 PM Thursday, January 11th, Burlington Police Officers were dispatched to a call for service at 2602 Flint Hills Drive. A resident there was identified as Matthew Gibbs.
While inside the residence, Officers noted evidence of marijuana and psilocybin mushroom growing operations.
The Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force responded to the scene and executed a search warrant. As a result of the evidence located, Gibbs was arrested and charged with Manufacturing Psilocybin Mushrooms, Manufacturing Marijuana, 3 counts of Drug Tax Stamp Violation, Child Endangerment, Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
