Davenport, IA- The Davenport Police Department is investigating the cause of a fire where two individuals were found dead.
According to a news release, at about 3:55 AM Tuesday, January 16th, Davenport Police and Fire responded to the 5200 block of North Division Street in reference to the report of a structure fire.
Davenport Fire crews arrived on the scene to find moderate smoke showing from an apartment and quickly extinguished the fire.
During a search of the apartment, firefighters located two deceased individuals.
Davenport police say the origin of the fire and cause of death were deemed suspicious. The incident remains under investigation.
