Fairfield man arrested on multiple charges following disturbance

Fairfield, IA-  The Fairfield Police Department has announced the arrest of a man on multiple charges following a disturbance.

According to a news release, at about 12:37 AM Thursday, January 25th, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of West Burlington Avenue in Fairfield for a report of a male subject causing a disturbance outside a residence.

It was reported the man was armed with a bat.

When officers arrived, the man fled on foot but was quickly apprehended.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the man, identified as 33-year-old Joseph Michael Siemers had an active warrant for his arrest, and located various narcotics on his person.

Siemers was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine 3rd or subsequent offense, Possession of Marijuana, three counts of possession of a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance (Alprazolam, Hydrocodone, Amphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Interference with Official Acts Causing Bodily Harm, Disorderly Conduct.

Siemers was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and held pending an initial court appearance.
