Keokuk man arrested in multiple drug charges

Keokuk, IA-  The Lee County Narcotics Task Force has announced the arrest of a Keokuk man on felony and misdemeanor drug charges.

According to a news release, 29-year-old Rick Keegan Tinder of Keokuk is charged with Possession of over 5 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver while in possession of a firearm, Iowa Drug Tax Stamp Violation, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The charges came after a traffic stop that was conducted by the Keokuk Police Department in the 1400 block of Bank Street.

During the stop, a subject, later identified as Tinder, fled on foot.  Following a brief pursuit officers apprehended Tinder, who was found to be in possession of controlled substances and a firearm at the time.

The Keokuk Police Department assisted in this investigation by utilizing grant funding from the Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau to conduct a joint law enforcement saturation project along with the Lee County Narcotics Task Force. Also assisting the investigation is the Lee County Attorney’s Office.
