Burlington woman arrested for drug possession

Burlington, IA-  The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Burlington woman for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

According to a news release, on Friday, February 2nd, a Des Moines County Deputy stopped a vehicle at US Highway 61 and Rock Spring Road for an expired registration.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 46-year-old Genie Sue Wasson of Burlington.

During the stop, deputies conducted a consent search of the vehicle and located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, Wasson was arrested for possession of a controlled substance 3rd or subsequent offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
