1 person injured in Galesburg Garage Fire

Galesburg, Ill.-  The Galesburg Fire Department says that one person was injured in a garage fire on Wednesday, February 14th.

According to a news release, Galesburg Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 1167 South Pearl Street at 11:16 AM Wednesday.

Upon arrival, fire crews encountered a heavy fire showing from the front of a detached garage.

One person was injured exiting the garage and was treated.  The fire was extinguished, and no other occupants or pets were found inside.

The detached garage sustained heavy fire and smoke damage.  Two additional structures sustained exposure damage, and two vehicles and two motorcycles were damaged in the blaze.  Damages are estimated at about $40,000.

Galesburg Fire Department Investigators have determined the cause of the fire to be unintentional.
