Ottumwa, IA- A man’s body was found inside a vehicle that was submerged in a river in southeast Iowa.
Radio Iowa reports that the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office says it received a call on Monday concerning a vehicle that an individual saw in the middle of the Des Moines River. Officials were able to remove the vehicle on Tuesday and a deceased male was located inside.
The identity of the deceased is not being disclosed at this time. The man’s remains will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The death remains under investigation.
