West Burlington, IA-  A local Boy Scout partnered with the Great River Health Foundation to bring activity packs to pediatric patients.

According to a news release, on Thursday, April 18th, James Hunold donated 1000 activity bags to Great River Health’s pediatrics unit at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington as part of his Eagle Service Project.

“As a child, I was diagnosed with diabetes type one and spent a lot of time in the hospital,” Hunold said. “Hopefully these bags help kids who are in the same position as I was from getting bored and give them something to smile about.”

Each activity bag, organized into age-appropriate bins, included two story books, a coloring book, crayons, and pipe cleaners with craft suggestions from Hunold himself.
