Mediapolis, IA- The Mediapolis School District was awarded a “Learning Beyond the Bell” grant of over $131,000.
The Iowa Department of Education awarded nearly $6 million in grants to 67 schools to create, expand, and sustain high-quality before and after-school programs that support families and advance student achievement in partnership with community organizations.
The Hawk Eye reports that the grant will be used to purchase a new reading program for Mediapolis Elementary School.
The district will also use funding for a summer learning retention program and to host education nights for families.
