Burlington Police Department arrest man on multiple charges following pursuit, single vehicle accident

Burlington, IA-  The Burlington Police Department has announced the arrest of a man on multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit.

According to a news release, at about 1:32 PM Friday, May 31st, Burlington Police Officers, the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force, and the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office had information that Dillon Rasch was in the area of 5th and Vines St.

Rasch was wanted on multiple Des Moines County warrants for Parole Violation, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Assault while Displaying a Dangerous Weapon, and Reckless Use of a Firearm.

While in the area, Rasch was observed by officers in a blue truck, and a traffic stop was initiated.

Rasch did not stop and led officers on a pursuit across the Great River Bridge, which ended in Gulf Port Illinois when Rasch’s vehicle crashed.

Rasch was transported to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center for the injuries he sustained in the accident, and was later transported to Des Moines County Jail.

He was charged with the Des Moines County warrants, as well as, Felony Eluding, and Driving While Barred.

Additional charges are pending.
