Burlington Riverfront Entertainment announces new Executive Director

Burlington, IA-  Burlington Riverfront Entertainment has announced the appointment of a new Executive Director.

According to BRE, Matt Brown has been named the new Executive Director effective July 29th, 2024.  Brown has been a member of the BRE board since 2018, serving in key leadership roles, including as treasurer for the past four years.

Over the last ten years, Matt has also served on the Burlington SnowBull board, holding the position of President for the past three years.

Additionally, he brings a strong background in banking, IT, and marketing to his role. This diverse experience aligns perfectly with BRE’s mission to provide quality entertainment and enrich the cultural landscape of Southeast Iowa.

“After an extensive search, we are thrilled to welcome Matt Brown as our new Executive Director,” said Chelsea Lerud, President of the Board of Directors at BRE. “Matt’s vision, leadership skills, and passion for the arts and entertainment will be invaluable as we continue to grow and serve Southeast Iowa.”

In this new role, Brown will oversee the operations of the Burlington Memorial Auditorium, Port of Burlington, and the Burlington Depot.

He will work closely with the board of directors, staff, and community stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for organizational growth, financial sustainability, and enhanced community impact.

To ensure a smooth transition, current Executive Director Mike O’Neil will remain with the organization through September.
