Burlington, IA- The Burlington Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Wednesday, July 31st.
According to a news release, at about 6:30 PM Wednesday, Burlington Police Officers responded to the area of South 10th Street regarding shots being fired in the area.
When officers arrived on scene, they located a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was taken to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Officers canvased the area and located multiple shell casings on the street and the sidewalk.
The incident remains under investigation by the Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
