Keokuk Police: Oquawka man arrested on multiple charges

Keokuk, IA-  The Keokuk Police Department has announced the arrest of an Illinois man on multiple charges following the execution of a search warrant.

According to a news release, at about 6:32 AM Saturday, August 3rd, the LeeComm Dispatch Center received a call in reference to a burglary at 707 Palean Street, West K Mart.

Keokuk Police Officers arrived on scene at about 6:33 AM and noted that forced entry was made into the store.  Officers took photos, collected evidence, and interviewed the reporting party, learning that several items were missing.

Through an investigation, it was determined that 32 year old Bryan Vanskike of Oquawka, Illinois was a suspect in the crime.

Vanskike was discovered at 708 Bank Street in Keokuk.  The residence was secured and the Keokuk Criminal Investigations Divisions was contacted.

Police executed a search warrant at the residence on Saturday, August 3rd, and items that support the charges were discovered.

Vanskike is charged with 2nd Degree Theft, Forgery, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphanelia, 3rd Degree Burglary, and 5th Degree Theft.
