Burlington man arrested following shooting

Burlington, IA-  The Burlington Police Department has announced the arrest of a man following a shooting incident.

According to a news release, on Sunday, August 11th, Burlington Police Officers responded to 2727 Monarch Drive regarding a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers detained 48-year-old David Carpenter in the front yard of the residence.  Officers also located an adult male inside the residence with a single gunshot wound to the face.

The victim was taken to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, for what appeared to be a non-life-threatening injury.

Carpenter was later placed under arrest and charged with Attempted Murder and Child Endangerment.

The police Department says that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
