Galesburg Police: man arrested following house fire

Galesburg, Ill.-  Authorities in Galesburg have announced the arrest of a man on multiple charges following a house fire.

According to the Galesburg Police Department, at about 7:39 AM Thursday, August 15th, the Galesburg Police and Fire Departments responded to 243 Highland Avenue for a structure fire.

A juvenile was located in the residence and was initially taken to OSF St. Mary Medical Center, then taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The fire inside the residence was extinguished by the Galesburg Fire Department.

As a result of the investigation, 46-year-old Jason Fielder was located in an apartment at 672 Home Blvd in Galesburg.  Fielder was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Arson, and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault.
